Giorgio Vasari designed the Uffizi building and it was constructed as the offices of the Florentine magistrates between 1560 to 1580. It is well known around the world for its impressive collections of ancient sculptures and paintings (from the Middle Ages to the Modern period). The collections of paintings vary from the 14th-century to Renaissance duration.
